Our general understanding of morality reflects the rules that guide our behavior. But thoughtfulness and careful consideration in this part of the human domain include complex topics that account for a large amount of philosophical and theoretical research. Considering the importance of ethical issues in human life and the extent of the theoretical debates of this field in various aspects of normative ethics and metaethics, in particular the importance of applied ethics, the Research Center for Philosophy and Islamic Theology pursues scholarly research on this subject through the formation of Philosophy of Ethics Department and tries to empower Islamic research in the field of ethics through dealing with common issues in ethics, defining the macro-research projects, forming scientific groups, holding meetings and publishing research and reliable works.
Now, the macro-project "the theories of ethics" is active and in the near future the macro-project" the morality of death and life" in the field of applied ethics and "epistemology of ethics" in the domain of metaethics will be carried out. The projects in Philosophy of Ethics Department have been organized in the form of macro-projects, approved plans for intellectual and cultural centers in Islamic Propagation Office of Qom Seminary, compilation and translation of thematic monographs as well as holding scientific meetings and dialogues.
