Research Deputyship of the Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy proposed the establishment of Department of Journals to Board of Trustees of Islamic Propagation Office of Qom Seminary, which was approved and recognized on July 21, 2018, with the aim of producing and promoting knowledge related to the field of humanities and Islamic sciences, as well as empowering the exchange of scientific and research findings between scientific centers, and creating unity in the process of publishing scientific journals.   

Scientific Council for the Department of Journals
In order to plan issues related to journals, maintain the integrity of decisions and coordination of journals, a council was approved under the title of "The Council for Scientific Journals of the Academy" to examine the activities of the journals and make necessary decisions to improve the quantity and quality of the journals.

The board of directors of the academy including the president of the academy as the chairman of the council, research deputy of the academy, deputy of Human Resources and Support of the academy, directors in charge of the academy's journals, editors in chief of the academy's journals; head of the academy's Department of Journals as the Secretary of the Council, head of the Information Technology Department of the academy and Head of the Publications Department of the academy.

This department is composed of five organizational positions including the head of the Department of Journals and four experts in the executive affairs of quarterly journals and three non-structural positions of director in charge, editor in chief, and editorial secretary.
